Built for the driver, not the dashboard.
Last Wagon is an Android companion for commercial drivers, designed around the realities of life in the cab. Truck-aware navigation, nationwide truck stop and parking data, weather and road information, driver communication, CDL and pre-trip tools, and a private business ledger, all in one app.
Android beta testing is underway.
Last Wagon is now being tested on real Android phones and tablets. The beta is focused on real-world use before broader release:
- Navigation behavior
- Phone and tablet layouts
- Routing
- Driver tools
- Community features
- Reliability
Not a car app with a truck icon pasted on.
Last Wagon is being built as a toolbox around the actual work of a commercial driver: the route, the stop, the weather, the paperwork, and the miles in between.
Review the route. Then drive it.
Set your vehicle profile, look the whole route over before you roll, then get visual turn-by-turn with spoken maneuvers and chimes. Leave the navigation screen, take a call, and pick the trip right back up.
- Driver-confirmed vehicle profile
- Route overview before departure
- Spoken guidance and maneuver chimes
- Follow-camera navigation
- Automatic off-route recalculation
- Persistent navigation notification
- Picture-in-Picture navigation
- Resume an active trip anytime
- Offline route corridors for reviewed routes (Basic)
Know where you’re stopping before you need to.
A searchable nationwide map of 16,764 truck stops, fuel locations, rest areas and overnight parking spots, plus 819 weigh stations. Filter by brand or category, and send any location straight to either routing system.
- Brand and category filtering
- Send a location directly to routing
- Community parking availability
- Community star ratings
- Crowdsourced weigh-station open/closed status
- Optional animated weather radar on the map
What’s between you and the drop.
Weather Ahead
During an active route, Last Wagon surfaces severe-weather alerts from NOAA and the National Weather Service when those alerts cross the road you’re driving. It’s informational: it tells you what’s out there and leaves the routing decision with you.
Road Reports
Current road alerts from Hammer Down’s road alerts feed are available natively inside the app. The same alerts you read on Hammer Down Headlines, in the cab, without opening a browser.
The nationwide conversation, in your pocket.
CB 19
One nationwide, anonymous driver chat. No public profiles, AI moderation, and optional activity notifications where supported. A modern counterpart to the old channel 19 conversation, not a replacement for the radio in your dash.
Hammer Down News
Official Hammer Down News headlines, right inside Last Wagon. Scan the industry from the app and open full stories in your browser when you’ve got the time.
Your numbers. Kept on your device.
A private business record for the driver, not the carrier. Track loads, revenue, expenses and fuel, watch the trends, and build the per-state mileage foundation you’ll want when IFTA season shows up. Core records and calculations stay local.
- Loads, linehaul, fuel surcharge, accessorials
- Expenses and fuel purchases
- Mileage and trends
- Per-state jurisdiction mileage (IFTA foundation)
- Archives and weekly reviews
- National diesel benchmarks and market context
The Ledger is a record-keeping tool. It is not IFTA tax preparation or tax filing.
Receipt Capture
Photograph a receipt and Last Wagon reads it with on-device ML Kit OCR. You review and edit before anything is saved. Saving a receipt never depends on AI or an internet connection. Premium can optionally run a second server-side verification pass.
Weekly Smart Insights
The weekly review and every number in it are deterministic and available without AI. Premium adds optional AI commentary that interprets the results. It reads your week; it doesn’t invent it.
PremiumSharp before the wheels turn.
Pre-Trip Inspection
132 inspection items across 10 categories, with guidance, defect information, and regulatory and manual citations. An educational and readiness tool, not a substitute for legally required inspection procedures or your employer’s requirements.
CDL Practice
95 verified practice questions covering General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination Vehicles, with explanations and citations, progress tracking, and a daily safety question with streaks. Most of it works offline.
Works when the signal doesn’t.
Offline-First
CDL and pre-trip material, local records, and the bundled POI directory stay available without a connection. Live community data and online routing need signal; the rest doesn’t.
Driver Control
No advertising. No analytics service. No crash reporting. No third-party tracking SDK. Foreground-only location. Routing sends route data to the provider you picked; community features send only what they need.
Phone & Tablet
Layouts and controls adapt from compact phone screens to cab-mounted tablets. Dark, light or system theme, larger reading text, reduced motion, navigation voice selection, and a replayable welcome tour.
Open Addresses Here
Hand a supported address or geo link from another app to Last Wagon as a proposed destination. You review it before routing. Copy addresses, or send one to another installed maps app.
Put it in a real truck. Tell us what breaks.
Beta testers run Last Wagon on real routes, real phones and real tablets, and help steer it toward what drivers actually need before broader release.
