PACCAR Recall Targets Power Failure Risk in New Trucks
Paccar is recalling nearly 6,000 model-year 2027 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks after identifying potential oil contamination in the vehicles’ power distribution center boxes, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall report.
Potential Loss of Critical Vehicle Functions
The oil contamination could affect the power distribution center and result in a loss of drive power, antilock brake system functionality, exterior lighting, windshield wipers or windshield defogging.
NHTSA said the loss of one or more of these functions can increase the risk of a crash.
Vehicles Covered by Recall
The recall applies to certain 2027-model-year Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. The campaign is identified by NHTSA recall number 26V485.
Paccar manufactures both the Kenworth and Peterbilt brands. The company’s dealer network will provide recall remedy information for affected vehicles.
