🚨 **Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

**TORNADO WARNING — southeastern Kentucky:** Pike County, including Toonerville, Fishtrap Lake, Kimper, Coleman and Mouthcard, until **7:15 PM EDT**. A tornado-capable storm near Grundy is moving southeast at 30 mph. **Do not drive into the warned area—seek sturdy shelter now and check the NWS for the latest information.**

**Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia & Virginia:** Severe storms are producing **60–70 mph winds, damaging hail and heavy rain.** In eastern Kentucky, winds have damaged trees in Pike County; flooding is possible around Prestonsburg, Martin and Allen after 1–2 inches of rain. Southern Indiana storms are affecting **I-65 between mile markers 47 and 84** near Columbus, Seymour and Bedford.
Flash flooding threatens **I-77, I-64, I-79, U.S. 119 and the West Virginia Turnpike** near Charleston and Nitro through **9:30 PM EDT**. In Ohio, numerous roads are flooded or closed in Fairfield and Hocking counties; continued flooding and closures are also reported near Gallipolis, Pomeroy and Middleport. Never drive through water-covered roads.

**North Carolina & South Carolina:** Severe storms with **60 mph winds and quarter-size hail** are affecting the Charlotte area, Greenville, Rock Hill, Gastonia and Monroe. Use caution on **I-95 and I-40 in Johnston County**, **I-95 near Dunn/Lillington**, and **I-73 between mile markers 26 and 41** near Rockingham and Hamlet. Flash flooding is occurring near Locust, Norwood, Oakboro and Stanfield, with 2–3 inches of rain already reported; flooded streets, underpasses and highways are possible through **9:30 PM EDT**.

**California, Utah & Arizona:** Flash flooding is affecting **I-15 and I-40 near Daggett and Nebo Center, California**, where 1–2 inches of rain has fallen and more is possible. Destructive winds up to **80 mph** and quarter-size hail have been reported near Newberry Springs, including a gust to **89 mph at Barstow Airport**. Additional severe storms affect rural San Bernardino/Riverside County, CA Route 177, and Highway S2 between Highway 79 and Highway 78 in San Diego County.
In Utah, flash flooding is ongoing in the Upper Paria River Basin, including lower elevations of Bryce Canyon National Park, Tropic and Cannonville. In Arizona, flooding and impassable low-water crossings are possible around Flagstaff, including **I-40 mile markers 194–200**.

**Dakotas:** Severe storms in western and southern North Dakota and southwest South Dakota can produce **60 mph winds and large hail up to baseball size.** Use extra caution near Medora, Ellendale, LaMoure, Camp Crook, Fairburn and southwestern Badlands National Park. A severe-thunderstorm watch remains in effect across parts of north-central and northeast South Dakota until **1 AM CDT**.

**Driving safety:** Slow down in heavy rain, watch for fallen trees and power lines, avoid hail and damaging-wind cores when possible, and never drive around barricades or through flooded roads. Turn around, don’t drown.
