🚗 **Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

**Southeast flooding:**
– **Northeastern Florida:** Flash flooding is ongoing across Duval and Nassau counties, including Jacksonville, Talbot Island, Fort Caroline and Amelia City. Up to 2 more inches of rain could fall through **2:45 a.m. EDT**; highways, streets, underpasses and low-lying roads may flood.
– **Southeastern Alabama:** Flash flooding continues in Coffee, Barbour, Bullock and Pike counties. **US 431, US 82 and US 231** may be affected, with 2–4 inches of rain already reported and another 2–4 inches possible. Warnings expire between **1:30 and 4 a.m. CDT**.
– **North and central Mississippi, West and Middle Tennessee, eastern Arkansas and southeast Missouri:** Flood Watches and Wind Advisories are in effect. Rainfall of **1–3 inches** may cause flooding of streams, rivers, low-water crossings and other flood-prone roads. Northeast winds of **15–25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph** are expected Saturday, making travel difficult for high-profile vehicles.

**Tropical conditions:**
– **Mississippi counties under Tropical Storm Warnings:** Gusts may reach **40–45 mph**, with localized flooding, debris and hazardous conditions on bridges and elevated roads. Warnings expire around **6:45 a.m. CDT Saturday**.
– **Alabama and northwest Florida coastal waters:** Hurricane Warning continues for extreme marine conditions, including winds of **55–75 knots with gusts up to 110 knots** and seas of **23–30 feet**. Mariners should remain in port through early Saturday morning.
– **Southern California:** Tropical Storm Watches cover San Diego County, with wind gusts up to **55 mph** and a Flood Watch from Saturday evening through Sunday evening. Rainfall rates could reach **0.7–1 inch per hour in mountains**, with dangerous runoff, mudslides, flooded roads and possible road closures.

**Carolinas:** Heavy rain may produce flooding along the French Broad and Broad rivers. Storm totals of **4–8 inches**, locally **8–10 inches**, are possible near the upper French Broad watershed; Broad River headwaters may receive **6–8 inches**, locally 10 inches. Low-lying roads could flood, and **Butler Bridge Road** may close if river levels rise further. The Broad River advisory includes **Shelby Hwy (SC 18)**.

Never drive through floodwater—**turn around, don’t drown**. Reduce speed in heavy rain and strong winds, watch for debris, and avoid bridges or low-water crossings when conditions worsen.
