Operation Guardian Focused on CDL Violations
Officials said Operation Guardian resulted in the arrests of more than 230 foreign nationals who were in the United States unlawfully. More than 40 of those arrested were commercial driver’s license holders, according to DHS.
The operation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in cooperation with state and local law enforcement agencies. Authorities focused on individuals allegedly holding or using commercial driver’s licenses without proper authorization, as well as other cases involving potential public safety concerns within the trucking industry.
Enforcement Covered 15 States
Federal and state law enforcement leaders announced the results during a press conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Officials highlighted Oklahoma’s role in the effort and described the operation as a coordinated initiative involving agencies in 15 states.
The arrests were made over a three-day period. DHS officials said more than 40 CDL holders were taken off the road as part of the enforcement action.

Authorities said the operation was intended to identify commercial drivers who lacked proper authorization or were otherwise considered a public safety threat. The announcement comes as federal and state officials continue reviewing commercial driver’s license compliance and eligibility requirements.
