🚗 **Nationwide road-weather update: flooding is the primary threat**
– **Kansas:** Flash flooding is occurring across parts of eastern, central, western, and southwestern Kansas. **I-70 between mile markers 340–349** is affected near the Jackson/Shawnee area, where 3–5 inches of rain has fallen and up to another inch is possible. Numerous roads remain closed or washed out in Greeley and Wichita counties after 2–6.5 inches of rain. Flooding is also affecting areas near **Dodge City, Manhattan, Junction City, Hiawatha, and Glen Elder**. Several warnings continue through tonight or Friday morning.
– **Nebraska:** Minor river flooding continues along the **Little Blue River near Deweese**, with a crest expected this evening. The **Republican River near Guide Rock** may rise above flood stage tonight, potentially affecting Roads B and E.
– **Colorado:** Flooding continues along **Rule Creek and Muddy Creek** in rural south-central Bent County. Low-water crossings may be impassable through early evening.
– **Missouri:** Wakenda Creek near **Carrollton** is expected to rise above flood stage after midnight, with low-lying areas affected into Saturday evening.
– **Illinois:** Flooding and standing water continue across northwestern Illinois, especially **Rock Island, Mercer, Henry, and Whiteside counties**. Several roads are partially or completely inundated or closed; additional rain is possible through this evening.
– **Texas:** A Flood Watch covers parts of South Texas, including **Bee, Duval, Jim Wells, Live Oak, McMullen, Webb, Goliad, and Victoria counties**, through Friday evening. Rainfall totals of **2–6 inches, with isolated amounts up to 10 inches**, are possible. Minor flooding and water over roadways are also reported near **Jacksonville, Rusk, Kenedy, and Karnes City**.
**Driving safety:** Never drive through water or around barricades—turn around, don’t drown. Expect washed-out roads, low-water crossings, standing water, and reduced visibility; allow extra time and avoid flooded routes, especially at night.
