**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
⚠️ **Severe thunderstorms**
– **Ohio:** Around Blanchester, including **SR-123 and SR-132**, damaging wind gusts up to **60 mph** and penny-size hail are possible through **7:15 AM EDT**. Storm moving northeast at 30 mph. Watch for downed trees, power lines, and sudden debris on roads.
– **Kansas:** Near Wichita, Derby, Haysville, Mulvane and Rose Hill—including **I-135 (mile markers 0–2)** and **I-35 (mile markers 34–45)**—storms may produce **60 mph winds** and quarter-size hail through **6:15 AM CDT**. Slow down and avoid stopping beneath trees or overpasses.
– **Minnesota/South Dakota:** A storm near Brookings and Aurora, moving east at **45 mph**, may bring **60 mph winds** and half-dollar-size hail through **6:30 AM CDT**. Additional severe storms near Park Rapids, Akeley, Nevis and Lake Itasca could produce hail up to **ping-pong-ball size** through **6:45 AM CDT**. Protect vehicles where possible and be alert for tree damage.
🌧️ **Flooding**
– **Kansas:** Heavy rain has brought **2 to 3.5 inches** in parts of central and northeast Kansas, with another **0.5 to 1 inch** possible. Low-lying and poor-drainage roads may flood near Manhattan, Junction City, Tuttle Creek Lake, Marysville and Herington. Advisories run through **8:00–8:45 AM CDT**. Never drive through water covering a roadway—turn around, don’t drown.
– **Arkansas:** Minor flooding is possible in east-central Franklin County, including near Altus, Denning, Wiederkehr Village and Alix, through **9:15 AM CDT**. Avoid flooded low spots and drainage crossings.
🌫️ **Dense fog**
– **Eastern, northeastern and southeastern Iowa, plus northeast Missouri:** Visibility may drop to **one-quarter mile or less** through **9 AM CDT**, including Cedar and Jones Counties and surrounding areas. Use low-beam headlights, reduce speed, and leave extra following distance.
