**Road-Weather Update**
**Illinois:** Severe thunderstorms are affecting the Aurora–Naperville–Bolingbrook area, including Wheaton and Downers Grove, through **2:30 PM CDT**. Expect wind gusts up to **60 mph** and quarter-size hail as storms move east at 25 mph. Slow down, avoid stopping beneath trees, and watch for debris and sudden crosswinds.
Heavy rain is also causing urban and underpass flooding in and around **Chicago, Cicero, Evanston, Skokie, and Berwyn** through **4:30 PM CDT**. Storms have dropped **1–2 inches of rain in less than 45 minutes**. Do not drive through flooded streets or underpasses. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for Cook and DuPage counties, as well as nearby Lake Michigan waters, until **4 PM CDT**.
**Michigan:** Severe thunderstorms moving east at **35 mph** across Allegan and Ottawa counties—including **Holland, Grand Haven, Allegan, Zeeland, and Hudsonville**—may produce **60 mph wind gusts** and penny-size hail through **4 PM EDT**. Be alert for downed limbs, debris, and hazardous wind gusts on exposed roads.
**Puerto Rico:** Heavy thunderstorms have produced **1–2 inches of rain** in Mayagüez, with another **1–2 inches possible** through **5 PM AST**. Low-lying roads, poor-drainage areas, and small-stream crossings may flood. Turn around—don’t drive through flooded roads.
