**Road-Weather Update:** Severe thunderstorms are affecting eastern Iowa and western Illinois, including I-74, I-80, I-88 and I-280 near Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, Rock Island and Clinton. Storms are moving east at 40–45 mph with 60 mph wind gusts, hail up to quarter size, torrential rain and possible flash flooding. Avoid flooded roads, watch for tree debris, and be alert for rapidly changing conditions. Warnings expire between 7:15 and 8 AM CDT; severe-storm watches extend across much of Iowa, Illinois, northwest Indiana and eastern Nebraska through this morning/early afternoon.
**Flooding:** Heavy rain is producing low-lying and poor-drainage flooding around Indianapolis, Lawrence, Greenfield, Cumberland and McCordsville, with up to 2 inches already fallen and another inch possible through 10:30 AM EDT. Flood advisories also cover central and eastern Kentucky, including Liberty, Stanford, Mount Vernon and McKee, through 10:45 AM EDT. Never drive through flooded roadways.
**Whitewater River:** Lowland flooding is expected near Brookville, Cedar Grove, New Trenton, West Harrison, Indiana, and Harrison, Ohio. The river is forecast to crest near 17 feet shortly after midnight tonight; impacts may continue into late Thursday night.
Drivers: slow down in heavy rain, increase following distance, avoid downed trees or power lines, and turn around if water covers the road.
