**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

⚠️ **Flash flooding is the main travel threat tonight.** Never drive through water covering a road—turn around, don’t drown.

• **Eastern Kentucky:** Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing or expected across parts of Knott, Floyd, Perry, Letcher, Leslie and Pike counties, including Hazard, Whitesburg, Hindman, Jenkins and Mousie. Rainfall of 1.5–4 inches has fallen in spots, with more rain possible. Warnings run as late as **12:45 AM EDT**. Avoid low-water crossings, creeks, underpasses and mountain roads.

• **West Texas:** Heavy thunderstorms have produced 1–3 inches of rain, with additional rainfall possible around Seminole, Seagraves, Fort Stockton, Florey, Patricia, J B Thomas Reservoir and Fluvanna. Flash flooding may affect highways, streets and low-lying areas through late evening.

• **Southwest Virginia:** Severe storms near Norton, Wise, Big Stone Gap, Coeburn, Appalachia and Clintwood can produce **60 mph wind gusts** and torrential rain. Storms are moving south to southeast at 20–25 mph. Watch for downed trees, debris and sudden flooding; warnings expire around **10:15 PM EDT**.

• **Nebraska/Wyoming:** On **I-80**, flash flooding is possible from Nebraska mile markers 1–6 and Wyoming mile markers 379–402 near Pine Bluffs and Burns. Rain rates may reach 1.5–1.75 inches per hour. A separate severe storm near Bushnell and Panorama Point may bring **60 mph winds and half-dollar-size hail**; avoid I-80 between mile markers 1–13 if conditions deteriorate.

• **Eastern Colorado/western Kansas:** Severe thunderstorms moving north at 30 mph may bring **60 mph winds, nickel-size hail and torrential rain** near Highway 385 between mile markers 136–182, including Cheyenne Wells, Sharon Springs, Weskan and Wallace. Another severe storm near Ness City may produce 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail.

• **Colorado:** Heavy rain may cause flooded streets, underpasses, rural roads and small-stream crossings around Fort Collins, Wellington and parts of eastern Adams, Arapahoe, Morgan, Washington and Lincoln counties.

• **Northern Illinois/northwest Indiana:** A Flood Watch continues through Friday morning. Repeated storms could produce rainfall rates over **2 inches per hour** in parts of northern Illinois and Benton, Jasper and Newton counties in Indiana. Previously saturated areas are especially vulnerable.

• **Utah and Washington:** Flash flooding remains a concern near Ophir and Stockton, Utah, and around the Little Giant burn scar in Chelan County, Washington. Avoid canyons, dry washes, creek crossings and steep terrain where mudslides are possible.

• **Casper, Wyoming:** Heavy rain may cause minor flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas through **9:30 PM MDT**.
