Hammer Down Road Report

**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

🚧 **Central Illinois:** Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing in southwestern McLean County, including Bloomington and Normal. Several roads are closed or have stalled vehicles. Avoid flooded stretches of **I-39, I-74, and I-55**; 4–7 inches of rain has fallen. Warning until **1:30 PM CDT**.

🚧 **Southeast Iowa:** Flooding is already covering several rural roads in Lee County, including near Fort Madison, West Point, Donnellson, Franklin, and St. Paul. Low-water crossings may be impassable through **2:30 PM CDT**.

⚠️ **Eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania & northern West Virginia:** Flash flooding is possible from late tonight through Monday morning. Expect 1.5–2.5 inches of rain, with isolated 3–5 inch totals possible. Wet soils could lead to rapidly flooded low-lying roads, creeks, and crossings.

🌧️ **Hawaii:** Tropical Cyclone Lala is bringing a major flood threat. Windward Big Island could receive 10–20 inches of rain, with 8–12 inches possible on windward Maui; road closures, overflowing streams, and landslides are possible through late tonight. Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau may see 4–6 inches, locally 8 inches, from this evening through late Sunday night. Flooding is already affecting roads around Hilo and other windward Big Island communities.

Never drive through flooded roadsβ€”turn around, don’t drown. Slow down in heavy rain, avoid low-water crossings, and use alternate routes when closures are reported. Submit road-weather reports at **888-IS-4TIPS (888-474-8477)** or HammerDownHeadlines.com / HammerDownNews.com. Check local conditions before traveling.
