**Road-Weather Update: Severe Thunderstorms Affecting the Dakotas and Nebraska**

⚠️ **North Dakota:** Severe storms are moving northeast/east at 25–35 mph across parts of central and eastern ND, including near Courtenay, McVille, Pekin, Tolna, Lakota, Gackle, Streeter and Jud. Expect wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter- to golf-ball-size hail through 8:45 PM CDT. Drivers should be ready for sudden visibility drops, hail-covered roads, falling branches and debris.

⚠️ **South Dakota:** Damaging thunderstorms are affecting south-central, central and north-central SD. Areas near Tuthill, Spring Creek, Norris, Mobridge, Glenham, Mound City, Selby and Java could see 60 mph winds and hail up to 2 inches in diameter. Warnings run through 8:00 PM MDT/9:00 PM CDT in the southwest and as late as 8:45 PM CDT elsewhere. Avoid stopping under trees or overpasses; pull into a sturdy building if large hail or damaging winds approach.

⚠️ **Nebraska:** Northwestern Cherry County, including **Highway 20 between mile markers 118 and 130** and **Highway 61 between mile markers 201 and 222**, is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 8:30 PM CDT. A storm moving southeast at 35 mph may produce 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail. Slow down, increase following distance, and avoid driving through debris or into poor visibility.
