đźš— **Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

**Flooding is the main travel concern:**

– **Kansas:** Flash flooding is ongoing in Ellis and Trego counties, including Hays, Wakeeney and Victoria. **1–2 inches has fallen, with another 1–2 inches possible**; highways, streets and underpasses may flood through **1:30 PM CDT**. Flooding also continues along creeks and rivers in Jewell and Mitchell counties through **Friday afternoon**.
– **Iowa:** Flooding is occurring or expected across the Waterloo–Cedar Falls, Ames, Des Moines, Colfax and Van Meter areas. **I-380 between mile markers 65–73** has flooding impacts, and water may threaten **US-6 east of Adel** Friday evening. River flooding around Des Moines, Ames and Colfax may continue into the weekend and early Monday.
– **Nebraska:** Continued flooding near Hebron, Alexandria and surrounding areas after **3–5 inches of rain**. **State Highway 53 south of Alexandria is closed.** Conditions are expected to slowly improve Friday, but additional closures are possible.
– **South-central Texas:** A Flood Watch remains in effect through **Friday evening** from the Hill Country through San Antonio, Austin and surrounding communities. **1–4 inches of additional rain, with isolated totals up to 6 inches,** could cause life-threatening flooding and impassable low-water crossings. Minor flooding is also affecting portions of the Austin–San Antonio region and Ellis/Hill counties.
– **South Florida:** Heavy rain is producing minor flooding in and around Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Hialeah and nearby communities through early afternoon.
– **Southeast Alaska:** Glacier-outburst flooding is expected near the Mendenhall River and Lake in Juneau through **Saturday morning**. Water may cover portions of Skaters Cabin Road and affect View Drive. Skagway also has southwest winds of **20–30 mph, with gusts near 40 mph,** through early afternoon.

Never drive through floodwater—**turn around, don’t drown**—and obey road closures and barricades. Slow down in heavy rain, allow extra following distance, and avoid low-water crossings.
