Hammer down weather report 2026-10-13 14:00:59
**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
🌧️ **Flooding threat:** Flood Watches are posted across central, southern, and eastern Oklahoma; northern Texas; and central, south-central, and southeast Kansas. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms could produce **1–3 inches of rain, with locally up to 5 inches**, leading to flooding of creeks, streams, low-lying roads, and other flood-prone areas. The threat continues from Wednesday into Thursday afternoon.
💨 **Dangerous winds:** A High Wind Watch is in effect for portions of southwest and south-central New Mexico, including the Bootheel, Sacramento Mountains, Otero Mesa, and the El Paso–Hudspeth County area of Texas. Northeast winds of **30–40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph** are possible Thursday evening through Friday afternoon, strongest Thursday night into Friday morning. Travel may be difficult for high-profile vehicles, especially near mountain ridges and west slopes.
Never drive through flooded roads—**Turn Around, Don’t Drown**—and slow down in heavy rain. Drivers of high-profile vehicles should use extra caution in strong crosswinds and monitor changing conditions. Alerts generally expire Thursday afternoon for flooding and Friday afternoon for high winds.
