Hammer down weather report 2026-08-07 16:01:02
**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
⚠️ **Pennsylvania & southern New York:** Dangerous flash flooding is ongoing or expected through this evening. Road washouts are reported near Hankins, Callicoon and Hancock; rain rates of 1–2 inches per hour are possible. Flooding also threatens I-80 in Monroe/Northampton counties and I-78 in Berks County, plus southeastern York County. Numerous roads remain closed from flooding around Kittanning and Ford City. Never drive through flooded roads, underpasses, or low-water crossings.
⛈️ **Eastern PA / Warren County, NJ:** A severe storm moving east at 30 mph may produce 60 mph wind gusts through 4:30 PM EDT. Use extra caution on I-78 and the Northeast Extension—downed trees, power lines, debris, and sudden visibility reductions are possible.
⛈️ **Northeast PA / south-central NY:** Near Montrose, Susquehanna Depot, Hallstead and New Milford, severe storms may bring 60 mph winds, quarter-size hail, and heavy rain through 4:30 PM EDT. Avoid travel if possible; hail and wind can damage vehicles, and flooded roads may develop quickly.
🌧️ **Central Alabama:** Flash flooding is possible around Birmingham, Homewood, Irondale, Fultondale and Tarrant through 5:45 PM CDT. Watch for water covering streets, highways, and underpasses.
⛈️ **Oklahoma:** Severe storms across parts of central and southeastern Oklahoma—including Ada, Stratford, Konawa, Holdenville, Wetumka and Weleetka—are producing up to 60 mph winds and hail as large as ping-pong balls. Storms are moving east to southeast; pull off the road safely and seek sturdy shelter if hail or damaging winds approach.
⛈️ **Iowa:** Fast-moving severe storms in northeast Iowa may bring 60 mph wind gusts, quarter-size hail, torrential rain, and possible flash flooding near Sumner, Tripoli, Plainfield, Frederika, Nashua and Hawkeye.
⛈️ **Ohio / southeast Indiana:** Damaging 60 mph winds are possible near Hillsboro, Peebles, Winchester and Sardinia. Heavy rain is also causing minor flooding concerns from southeastern Indiana into southwest Ohio, including Hamilton, Fairfield, Sharonville and Harrison.
⛈️ **Maryland / northern Virginia:** A severe storm near Frederick and Brunswick is moving southeast at 30 mph with 60 mph winds. Roads may be blocked by fallen trees and large branches—avoid driving into debris or around downed power lines.
🌧️ **New Mexico:** Southeastern Taos County has arroyo and small-stream flooding, with dangerous water over low-water crossings near Tienditas Creek, Rio Fernando de Taos, Rio Chiquito and Palociento Creek.
