AAWTA and CDLLife Team Up to Expand Opportunities for Women Truckers

African American Women Trucking Association Announces Collaboration With CDLLife to Expand Outreach

The African American Women Trucking Association (AAWTA) has announced a collaboration with CDLLife aimed at bringing its workforce-development initiatives, original content and event information to a broader audience of professional drivers.

Announced September 4 in Atlanta, the collaboration will focus initially on promoting AAWTA’s Education & Industry Workforce Collaborative Summit, scheduled for September 17, 2026. The partnership will also support the distribution of AAWTA content through CDLLife’s website, social media channels, email newsletter and mobile app.

Planned promotional efforts include pre-event social media posts, speaker and topic spotlights, short-form video, live event updates and editorial coverage. The partnership overview also identifies potential interviews with speakers and attendees, on-site coverage, event highlights and post-event reporting.

CDLLife plans to include information about the Summit in its daily newsletter three times before the event, with promotion focused on awareness and registration. Event updates and registration information may also be featured in the CDLLife mobile app.

For professional drivers, the collaboration is intended to make AAWTA’s workforce, education and career-development discussions easier to find within a trucking media environment that many drivers already use. The organizations said the relationship will help connect drivers with information involving career pathways, professional development, education, health and wellness, workforce initiatives and community perspectives.

Summit focuses on workforce development

AAWTA describes its Education & Industry Workforce Collaborative Summit as a one-day gathering for leaders from transportation, logistics, supply chain, education, workforce development, government, nonprofit organizations and industry. The event is designed to support conversations about career advancement, economic mobility and solutions to workforce challenges.

The Summit will include speakers, panel discussions, networking opportunities and exhibitors. AAWTA has said the 2026 event will be limited to 125 guests.

By bringing together organizations that serve different parts of the transportation workforce, the Summit is intended to create connections between industry professionals, educators, workforce specialists and community partners. Those discussions are particularly relevant to drivers and prospective drivers navigating training, employment, advancement and other career decisions in trucking.

Expanding the reach of AAWTA content

Beyond the Summit, AAWTA plans to share its website RSS feed with CDLLife. That arrangement is intended to help newly published AAWTA articles, updates and event information reach CDLLife’s audience more efficiently for possible republication and sharing.

AAWTA’s stated outreach mission includes raising awareness of the contributions of African American women truckers to the economy and society. The organization shares their stories and achievements as part of an effort to challenge stereotypes and encourage more African American women to consider careers in trucking.

AAWTA also engages in policy advocacy involving laws, regulations and industry standards that affect African American women truckers. Its work includes advocacy campaigns, testimony and coalition-building, along with education, mentorship, professional development, community engagement and industry partnerships.

Nicole Ward, AAWTA’s president and co-founder, said the collaboration will help broaden the audience for the organization’s resources and community perspectives.

“This collaboration gives us another opportunity to make sure the stories, resources, workforce conversations, and perspectives coming from our community are reaching the people who can benefit from them,” Ward said. “By connecting AAWTA’s work with CDLLife’s driver audience, we’re expanding visibility, access, representation, and connection across the trucking industry.”

CDLLife partnership adds media distribution

CDLLife says its platforms receive more than 56 million page views annually and reach more than 600,000 email subscribers. The company also reports more than 2.9 million social media followers, along with more than 20 million social reach and 16 million social engagements.

That distribution network gives AAWTA another channel for reaching drivers and other trucking professionals with workforce-related information. The organizations said the collaboration is intended to support ongoing engagement rather than focus only on the September Summit.

Kevin Hall, CEO of CDLLife, said the partnership aligns with the company’s goal of helping trucking professionals find community and useful information.

“Our goal at CDLLife is to offer every trucking professional the opportunity to find community within our ecosystem,” Hall said. “We are honored to partner with AAWTA to bring our audience great content and expanded and engaged community. Both organizations are aligned with our core purpose, which is to improve the lives of trucking professionals.”

The collaboration places AAWTA’s original publishing platform alongside CDLLife’s established trucking media channels. For drivers, that means information about workforce development, education, professional opportunities and the experiences of African American women in trucking may appear across multiple formats, including online stories, social posts, newsletters, video and mobile updates.

AAWTA is based online at aawta.org, while CDLLife operates at cdllife.com.
