Five military veterans have been named finalists for the Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence award, which recognizes service members who have built careers in the trucking industry. This year’s winner will receive a new Kenworth T680.
Five veterans selected as finalists
The finalists represent multiple military branches and trucking companies:
- Mohammad Arzola — U.S. Marine Corps, Patriot Group International
- Monica Brooks-Buck — U.S. Army, Werner Enterprises

Kenworth T680 to be awarded
The program’s grand prize is a state-of-the-art Kenworth T680. The award is intended to recognize a veteran who has successfully transitioned from military service into a professional driving career.
“These five finalists show transitioning service members exactly what a trucking career can offer, and how quickly it can be built,” said Mohammad Arzola, one of this year’s finalists.
Recognizing military-to-trucking careers
The Transition Trucking award highlights the opportunities available to veterans entering the transportation industry. Military experience often provides backgrounds in vehicle operations, logistics, maintenance and leadership that can support careers in trucking and freight transportation.
The finalists will continue through the award process before this year’s Kenworth T680 winner is announced.
