Truck Driver Sentenced in Drug Trafficking Case
A Los Angeles truck driver has been sentenced to 15 years and eight months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. Prosecutors said authorities found more than 4,700 pounds of the drug in a truck he was driving.
Driver Sentenced in Federal Drug Case
Ruben Saenz, 38, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California. U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced the sentence Monday.
Saenz pleaded guilty in March 2026 to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. In addition to the prison term, he is expected to serve any supervised release imposed by the court following his incarceration.
Authorities Alleged Role in Trafficking Operation
Court documents described Saenz as playing a central role in a Mexico-based drug-trafficking operation. The case involved the transportation of more than 4,700 pounds of methamphetamine in a commercial truck.
