**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
⚠️ **Flash flooding is the main travel hazard tonight:**
– **Kentucky:** Flash Flood Warnings remain in effect for parts of Russell, Jackson and Harlan counties, including Jabez, Vinnie, Zekes Point, Tyner, Cranks and Black Mountain. Rain totals of **1 to 3.5 inches** have caused flooding of creeks, streets, underpasses and low-lying roads. Warnings extend as late as **12:45 AM EDT**.
– **Virginia:** Serious flooding is affecting **Carroll County**, especially near **Fancy Gap and Hillsville**. **Chances Creek Road is completely flooded** near Fancy Gap, where a water rescue was underway. Rainfall of **3 to 6 inches**, with up to another inch possible, may cause additional road flooding through **2 AM EDT**. Minor flooding is also possible in northern **Lee County** near Jonesville and Pennington Gap through **12:45 AM EDT**.
– **North Carolina:** Water remains over roads in parts of Polk and southeastern Rutherford counties. **Jim Dobbins Road is closed at Grays Creek**, affecting the Forest City, Rutherfordton, Columbus, Spindale and Tryon areas through **11:45 PM EDT**.
– **New Hampshire:** Heavy rain has brought **1 to 2 inches** to Hillsborough County, with minor road and poor-drainage flooding possible near Milford, Amherst, Hollis, Rindge and Mason through **12:45 AM EDT**.
– **Kansas & New Mexico:** Minor flooding is possible in southwestern Clark County, Kansas, after **2 to 3 inches** of rain with another **1 to 2 inches** possible. In Luna County, New Mexico, heavy rain may flood normally dry arroyos and small streams near Sunshine Valley, Akela and Rock Hound State Park.
– **Severe storms:** Near **Rosston, Oklahoma**, a severe thunderstorm is moving south at **10 mph** with **60 mph wind gusts** and quarter-size hail possible. Southeastern Baca County, Colorado—south of Vilas and east of Campo—faces **60 mph winds** and half-dollar-size hail.
Never drive through flooded roads, especially after dark; water can hide washouts and quickly sweep vehicles away. Slow down for heavy rain, wind and hail, and avoid stopping beneath trees or near flooded underpasses.
