**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

⚠️ **Flash flooding is the biggest driving threat this evening:**
– **Arizona:** SR-87 near mile marker 257 in Gila County faces life-threatening flash flooding near Water Wheel Falls and Ellison Creek; 1.5–2.5 inches has fallen. Dirt roads may be muddy/impassable, and paved roads and underpasses can flood.
– **New Mexico:** Flash flooding and possible debris flows may affect Willow Creek Road and Bursum Road near Willow Creek Campground in south-central Catron County following rainfall over burn scars. Otero County also has arroyo and small-stream flooding concerns near McGregor Range Base.
– **Texas:** East and Far East El Paso, Fort Bliss and Homestead Meadows have ongoing or imminent flash flooding after 1–1.5 inches of rain.
– **Tennessee/Kentucky:** Flooded streets, underpasses and low-lying roads are possible around Cookeville and Algood, TN, and across southeastern Whitley, western Bell and southwestern Knox counties, KY. Rainfall totals of 1–3 inches have been reported, with more possible in Kentucky.
– **Maryland/New York:** Southeastern Baltimore County, MD, and parts of Delaware and Otsego counties, NY—including Davenport and East Meredith—face flash flooding. Several inches of rain have fallen, with more possible through this evening.
– **Missouri:** Heavy storms are producing torrential rain and potential low-water crossing flooding across southwest Missouri, including Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Ava and surrounding areas. Flood concerns continue into midnight CDT.
– **North Carolina/Florida/Alabama:** Water may cover roads in western and central NC, including Hickory, Lenoir, Forest City, Rutherfordton, Columbus and Tryon. Minor flooding is also possible in northern FL near Providence and in Shelby County, AL, near Calera.

⛈️ **Severe thunderstorms creating dangerous driving conditions:**
– **Missouri:** Along and near I-44 between mile markers 63 and 72, storms near Springfield, Nixa, Ozark and Republic can produce 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail. Southern Missouri storms near West Plains and Bull Shoals Lake may bring **70 mph winds** and hail.
– **North Carolina:** Severe storms with 60 mph winds are moving northeast at 15 mph near I-73 and I-74 around Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Burlington and Asheboro. Another nearly stationary storm near Columbus and Tryon may produce 60 mph winds and hail.
– **Georgia:** I-75 through the Valdosta, Hahira and Quitman area could see 60 mph wind gusts as storms move west at 10 mph.
– **Arkansas:** Northern Arkansas near Bull Shoals, Yellville and Diamond City faces 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail.
– **New York:** A severe storm moving east at 25 mph may bring 60 mph winds around Albany, Schenectady, Troy and Clifton Park.
– **Arizona:** Quarter-size hail is possible on SR-179 near Sedona and on SR-89A between mile markers 369 and 383.
– **Texas:** A severe storm near Far East El Paso may produce 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail.

Avoid flooded roads, underpasses and low-water crossings—**turn around, don’t drown.** Slow down for heavy rain, hail and wind; keep extra distance from other vehicles, and avoid parking or driving beneath trees or downed power lines.
