🚗 **Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

**Flash flooding is the top driving hazard tonight.**
• **NYC metro, northeast New Jersey and Westchester:** Heavy thunderstorms have dropped 1–2 inches of rain, with more possible. Flooding is affecting roads, underpasses and low-lying areas around Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers and Paterson through **9 PM EDT**.
• **Monmouth County, NJ:** Flooding risk includes the **Garden State Parkway between mile markers 102–112** through **9:45 PM EDT**.
• **Northern NJ and eastern PA:** Numerous roads remain closed or covered by slow-moving/standing water in Warren County, NJ, and Monroe/Northampton counties, PA, after 2–4 inches of rain. Flood impacts continue through **11:30 PM EDT**.
• **Northern NY:** Flash flooding near Elizabethtown, Moriah, Lewis, Westport and Keene through **10:45 PM EDT**.
• **Northwest Alabama and western/northwest Arkansas:** Flash flooding threatens Florence and Muscle Shoals, AL, plus central Polk and parts of Carroll/Madison counties in AR. Several inches of rain have fallen; flooded streets, highways and underpasses are possible.

**Severe storms creating dangerous travel conditions:**
• **Iowa and northwest Illinois:** Severe storms are producing up to **60 mph winds** and hail up to **2 inches**. On **I-80 in Iowa, mile markers 205–213**, expect rapidly changing visibility and potential hail/wind damage. A broader severe-thunderstorm watch remains in effect across central, eastern and southeast Iowa—and Rock Island County, IL—until **10 PM CDT**, with winds up to **70 mph** and 2-inch hail possible.
• **Missouri and Arkansas:** Damaging 60 mph winds and large hail are affecting southwest Missouri, including **I-44 near Springfield, mile markers 68–71**, as well as northern, western and southern Arkansas.
• **West Virginia:** Severe storms moving northeast at **70 mph** may bring 60 mph wind gusts, quarter-size hail and torrential rain near Glenville and Grantsville. Use caution on **I-79 between mile markers 74–86** and WV Route 50 near mile markers 51–52 through **8:30 PM EDT**.
• **Richmond, VA; Hartford, CT; Upper Michigan:** Expect 60 mph wind gusts capable of downing trees and power lines. Torrential rain may also cause flooded roads in Connecticut.
• **New Mexico:** Along **US-70 west of Holloman AFB**, strong winds may kick up blowing dust and sharply reduce visibility; quarter-size hail and 60 mph gusts are also possible.
• **Arizona, Oklahoma and the Ozarks:** Severe storms may produce large hail, damaging winds and localized flash flooding.
