🚗 **Road-Weather Update: Flash Flooding & Severe Storms**
**Indiana, Ohio & Kentucky:** Dangerous flash flooding is impacting parts of eastern/southern Indiana, western Ohio and central Kentucky. Numerous roads are flooded in the Richmond/Connersville area, including near **I-70**, after 3.5 to 6 inches of rain in some locations; another 1 to 2 inches is possible. Warnings run through late morning to early afternoon EDT. High water has also closed portions of **Pinkard Pike/KY 169** near Nicholasville. Avoid flooded streets, underpasses and low-water crossings—**turn around, don’t drown.**
River flooding is also expected around **Anderson and Muncie, Indiana**. Madison Avenue between Van Buskirk Road and Seeton Street in Anderson is closed when the White River reaches 15.8 feet. Flooding may continue into Friday or Saturday.
**Iowa:** Flash flooding and standing water are affecting portions of **I-80 between mile markers 239–253** and **I-380 between mile markers 1–17**, including the Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty areas. Flooding may linger through 11:15 AM CDT.
**Illinois, southeast Iowa & northeast Missouri:** Severe thunderstorms are moving east to southeast at 25–50 mph, producing wind gusts of **60–70 mph** and hail up to golf-ball size. Use caution on **I-80, I-88 and I-74 in Illinois**. Expect sudden crosswinds, downed trees or debris, and reduced visibility in heavy rain. If conditions worsen, safely exit the roadway and wait it out—never drive through flooded pavement.
