**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

– **California:** Extreme travel danger in Imperial County through early evening. A dust wall near Calexico is producing near-zero visibility and winds over **50 mph**, affecting **I-8**, Routes **78, 111, 98 and 86**. Severe storms near El Centro, Calexico, Heber and Glamis may bring **60 mph winds, hail, torrential rain and flash flooding**. Do not drive into blowing dust or flooded roads; if caught in dust, pull completely off the roadway, turn off lights and keep your foot off the brake.

– **Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico & Nevada:** Flash flooding and debris-flow hazards are affecting mountain, burn-scar and desert roads. In Arizona, **SR-260 near Young** may flood after 1–3 inches of rain. In Colorado, watch for water, mud and rock debris on **Highway 550 near Cutler and Dexter Creeks** and **Highway 145 between Sawpit and Placerville**. Flooding is also possible near Gallup, Elephant Butte Lake, the Babylon Burn Scar in Utah, and the Connor Burn Scar in Nevada. Turn around at water-covered roads.

– **Central Indiana:** Serious and worsening flooding is affecting roads around Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Shelbyville and Columbus. Thunderstorms have dropped **1–4 inches** in parts of the area, while major river flooding is forecast on the White River near Muncie and Anderson and the Big Blue River at Shelbyville. **SR-32 east of Muncie**, **SR-11 north of CR 200 S near Columbus**, Riverside Drive and Indianapolis Road near Columbus may flood. Never drive around barricades.

– **Ohio & Michigan:** Several roads remain closed from flooding in and around Athens, Nelsonville, Glouster, Trimble and Amesville, Ohio. Minor flooding is also possible near Paris and Hawkins, Michigan, after **1.5–2.75 inches** of rain in about an hour.

– **New York, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska & Colorado Plains:** Severe thunderstorms are producing or capable of producing **60 mph wind gusts and damaging hail**. Use caution near Kirkwood and Conklin, NY; the Finger Lakes region including Watkins Glen; southern Kentucky near Somerset; southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois along **I-55**; **Highways 20 and 250** near Rushville, Nebraska; and around Sterling, Otis and Peetz, Colorado. Storms are moving generally east to southeast at 15–40 mph. Delay travel if possible and avoid parking beneath trees or driving through hail, high winds or flooded pavement.

– **Tennessee & Texas:** Flash flooding is ongoing or expected near Loretto and Westpoint, Tennessee, where rainfall rates may reach **2–3 inches in an hour**, and near Sierra Madera, Texas, after 1.5–2 inches of rain. Low-water crossings, underpasses and drainage areas can become dangerous quickly.

– **Idaho:** Flash flooding and debris flows remain possible Thursday afternoon and evening near Heise and the Big Rock Burn Scar. Avoid burn-scar drainages if heavy rain develops.
