**Road Weather Update — Aug. 18**

• **Alabama:** Severe thunderstorms through **8:30 PM CDT** across Marengo and southwestern Hale counties, including Linden, Demopolis, Uniontown, Thomaston and Sweet Water. Storms are moving east/southeast at 15–35 mph with **60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail**. Expect downed trees or debris and possible vehicle damage—slow down and avoid driving near damaged trees or power lines.

• **Iowa:** A severe storm near Emmetsburg/Five Island Lake is moving southeast at 30 mph through **8:30 PM CDT**, with **60 mph winds and quarter-size hail**. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for parts of northwest Iowa, including Spencer, Spirit Lake and Storm Lake, until **midnight CDT**. Be prepared for sudden hazardous crosswinds, hail and debris.

• **Michigan:** Severe thunderstorms through **9:30–9:45 PM EDT** may bring **60 mph wind gusts and penny-size hail** near Gaylord, Johannesburg, South Boardman, Sharon and Sigma. In Benzie County, including Frankfort, Beulah, Benzonia, Elberta and Honor, heavy rain has produced 1–2 inches, with up to 2 more inches possible; minor flooding is possible through **11:45 PM EDT**. Never drive through flooded roads.

• **Montana:** A severe storm near Tiegen in southwestern Petroleum County is moving east at 25 mph, with **60 mph wind gusts** possible through **7:30 PM MDT**. Watch for tree damage and debris on roads.

• **North Carolina:** Minor flooding is possible through **11:45 PM EDT** in southern Edgecombe County, including Tarboro, Princeville, Conetoe and Kingsboro, after 1–2.5 inches of rain. Avoid low-lying and poor-drainage roads.

• **Wisconsin:** A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until **10 PM CDT** for south-central and southeast Wisconsin, including Beloit, Janesville, Kenosha, Racine, Lake Geneva and Monroe. Be ready for rapidly changing driving conditions if storms develop.
