**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

⚠️ **Flash flooding is the biggest travel threat tonight.** Never drive through water-covered roads or around barricades.

– **Pennsylvania:** Dangerous flash flooding is affecting areas around **Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Norristown, Phoenixville, Manheim, and Ricketts Glen State Park.** Rain totals of **2–5 inches** have been reported, with more rain possible; roads, underpasses, and low-lying routes may be flooded through late evening. Severe storms near **Lancaster, Hazleton, Scranton, Lewistown, and the Pittsburgh suburbs** can produce **60 mph winds, large hail, and torrential rain.** The Pennsylvania Turnpike near mile markers **283–284** is included in the Lancaster warning, where radar-indicated rotation means tornadoes can develop quickly.

– **New York:** Northeastern Ulster County—including **Woodstock, Phoenicia, Mount Tremper, and West Hurley**—has ongoing flash flooding after **2–3 inches** of rain, with another **1–2 inches** possible through **11 PM EDT.** A severe storm moving east at **25 mph** may bring **60 mph winds** and additional downpours.

– **West Virginia:** Around **Martinsburg**, **3–5 inches** of rain has fallen, with several roads reportedly closed and vehicles stranded in high water. Flooding continues through **11 PM EDT.**

– **South Carolina & North Carolina:** **I-95 between mile markers 36 and 43 in South Carolina** may be affected by flash flooding near **Yemassee** after **2–4 inches** of rain, with another **1–2 inches** possible. In central North Carolina, water may cover roads near **Clinton, Laurinburg, Rockingham, and Hamlet** following **2–3 inches** of rain.

– **Colorado & New Mexico:** In **Walsenburg, Colorado, Pine Street is impassable and Highway 160 has flooding.** Flooding and debris-flow hazards also continue near the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar, including **Highway 165, Highway 78, and roads near Beulah and San Isabel.** Near **Springer, New Mexico**, arroyos, small streams, and low-water crossings may flood.

– **Nebraska, Kansas, Montana & Texas:** Severe storms can create hazardous driving conditions with **60–70 mph wind gusts and large hail.** In Nebraska, use caution on **Highway 2, Highway 61, Highway 83, and Highway 97** near Mullen, Hyannis, Thedford, and Seneca. Strong storms also affect areas near **Great Falls, Montana; Jennings, Kansas; Bovina, Texas; and Seguin and Gonzales, Texas.**

– **Mid-Atlantic:** Severe thunderstorm watches remain in effect through **10 PM EDT** for parts of **Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia**, with the potential for rapidly changing road conditions from storms.
