🚗 **Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
**New Mexico:** Flash flooding is underway or imminent in parts of Grant, San Miguel and Lincoln counties. **U.S. Highway 70 near Ruidoso Downs** is impacted by flooding and debris flow from the Salt Burn Scar. Flooding is also possible at low-water crossings in west-central Socorro County. Rainfall of 0.75–1.5 inches has fallen in several areas, with more rain possible. Never drive through flooded roads, arroyos, underpasses or debris-covered routes. Warnings run through late this afternoon/early evening MDT.
**Georgia:** Flash flooding is possible around **Statesboro**, including Highways **301, 301 Bypass and 80**, after nearly 2 inches of rain fell in less than an hour near Georgia Southern. Avoid flooded streets and low spots through 7:30 PM EDT. Severe storms near Athens and Watkinsville may produce 60 mph gusts and hail through 5:15 PM EDT.
**Carolinas:** Severe thunderstorms are producing or capable of **60 mph wind gusts, hail, torrential rain and possible flash flooding** across parts of western and piedmont North Carolina and upstate South Carolina. Use caution around Gastonia, Kannapolis, Mooresville, Hendersonville, Rockwell, Simpsonville and Fountain Inn. Expect downed trees, power lines and sudden water-covered roads; warnings generally expire between 5:15 and 5:45 PM EDT.
**Maine:** Severe storms with 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail affect Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. Use extra caution on **I-95 between mile markers 239 and 241** and State Highway 11 near Millinocket; warnings expire by 5:30 PM EDT.
**Arizona:** A Flood Watch is in effect Saturday through late Sunday night for the Tucson metro, Tohono O’odham Nation, southeast Pinal County, the Santa Cruz and San Pedro valleys, and nearby mountain areas. Strong storms may produce rainfall rates over 1 inch per hour, with isolated totals of 1–3 inches. Washes, roadway dips and low-water crossings may flood quickly.
**Alaska:** Winter driving conditions are expected through 4 PM AKDT Saturday at **Atigun Pass in the Central Brooks Range**. Four to six inches of snow, gusts up to 30 mph, and visibility below a half-mile at times may make travel difficult.
