Truck Driver Sentenced for Drug Trafficking, Land Line Media Reports
A Los Angeles truck driver was sentenced to 15 years and eight months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine, federal prosecutors announced. Authorities said more than 4,700 pounds of methamphetamine were found in a truck he was driving.
Driver sentenced in federal drug case
Ruben Saenz, 38, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston in the Eastern District of California, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge in March 2026.
Prosecutors said Saenz played a central role in a Mexico-based drug-trafficking operation. The methamphetamine seizure was made while Saenz was operating a commercial truck, according to court records and federal authorities.
Federal prosecution
U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced the sentence on Monday, Sept. 14. In addition to the prison term, Saenz will face the post-incarceration requirements imposed by the federal court.
The case was prosecuted in federal court in the Eastern District of California. Officials did not provide additional details about the truck, the shipment’s intended destination or other alleged members of the trafficking organization in the material released about the sentencing.
