**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
π **Flash flooding is the biggest travel hazard today.** Never drive through flooded roads, underpasses, washes, or low-water crossings.
– **Arizona:** Life-threatening flash flooding through 5:45 PM MST in Yavapai County, including **I-17, SR-69, SR-96, SR-89 and SR-97**. Heavy rain has dropped 0.5β2 inches, with another 0.5β2 inches possible. Flash flooding also threatens the Antelope Creek basin near LeChee and Antelope Canyon.
– **Indiana:** Flash flooding is occurring from near Royal Center to Grissom Air Reserve Base, including Marion, Logansport, Peru, Hartford City and Gas City. **3β5 inches of rain** have fallen; warning until 8 PM EDT.
– **Ohio/West Virginia:** Several roads remain closed from ongoing flooding across southeastern Ohio and west-central Wood County, WV, including Athens, Belpre, Nelsonville, Glouster and McConnelsville. Flood warnings extend as late as 10 PM EDT.
– **New York/Pennsylvania:** Heavy thunderstorms have produced 1β2 inches of rain near West Elmira, Southport, Wyalusing and Wysox. Flash-flood warnings continue until 8:45 PM EDT.
– **Kentucky:** Flash flooding is possible near Berry, Oddville, Sunrise, Munfordville, Brownsville and Cave City; up to another inch of rain is possible in the Harrison/Nicholas County area.
– **Colorado:** Avoid flooded or debris-flow-prone roads near Turquoise Lake and the Willow Burn Scar. Near Ouray, debris flows and flooding are possible along **US-550 between Cutler Creek and Dexter Creek**.
– **New Mexico/Texas:** Flash flooding threatens rural southwestern Socorro County, NM, and central Pecos County, TX. Arroyos and low-water crossings can flood rapidlyβeven from distant rain.
– **Nevada/Montana/California:** Localized flooding is possible near **US-395** around Gardnerville, NV; eastern Lucerne Valley and northern Johnson Valley, CA; and northwestern Carter County, MT.
βοΈ **Severe thunderstorms may cause dangerous driving conditions:**
– **South Dakota:** Storms near Hot Springs, Edgemont, Buffalo Gap and Oelrichs may bring **70 mph winds and tennis-ball-size hail**. A severe-thunderstorm watch remains in effect across much of western South Dakota until 8 PM MDT.
– **Missouri/Illinois/Indiana/Kentucky:** Damaging storms with **60 mph winds and quarter-size hail** affect parts of Missouri, southern Illinois, southwest Indiana and Kentucky. Use extra caution on **I-44 near Rolla/St. James, I-55 near Chester, and I-69 near Evansville**. Pull off safely and seek sturdy shelter if hail, lightning, or damaging winds approach.
– **Arizona/Nevada/California:** Severe storms near Lake Mead and Lake Havasu City may produce gusts to **50 mph**, small hail, and 2β4 foot lake waves.
