**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
• **Hawaii:** Hurricane Lala is driving dangerous flash flooding on the Big Island, especially around Hilo, Puna and Kau. Rain rates of 1–2.5 inches per hour have caused numerous road closures in South Hilo, Puna and Kau; warning remains in effect until 4 PM HST. On Maui, flooding and a Piiholo Road closure near Waiahiwi Road were reported; avoid low-water crossings and flooded roads.
• **California/Nevada:** Flash flooding is ongoing near Primm, Jean, Sandy Valley, Goodsprings and Mountain Pass, with 1–3 inches of rain near Sandy Valley. Creeks, streets, highways and underpasses may be impassable through 6:45 PM PDT.
• **Colorado/Wyoming/Oregon:** In Colorado, heavy rain over the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar threatens Highway 165, Highway 78, Northcreek Road and nearby county roads with flash flooding and debris flows through 7:30 PM MDT. Severe storms in southeast Colorado may bring 60 mph winds and large hail. Flooding is also occurring along Cherry Creek in Denver. In Wyoming, 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail threaten I-25 near Douglas and Glendo. In Oregon, US Highway 26 near Unity faces life-threatening flash flooding, with rainfall rates up to 2 inches in 30 minutes.
• **Illinois:** Significant flooding continues around Bloomington-Normal and Champaign-Urbana. I-39, I-55, I-57, I-72 and I-74 are within warned areas after 2–7 inches of rain, with another 1–3 inches possible tonight. Flood warnings continue until noon CDT Sunday. A severe storm near Fort Madison, Nauvoo and west-central Illinois/eastern Iowa/northeast Missouri is moving east at 30 mph with 60 mph winds, hail and torrential rain.
• **Kansas:** A severe storm in southeastern Morton and southwestern Stevens counties is moving northeast at 30 mph, capable of 60 mph winds and half-dollar-size hail through 6:45 PM CDT.
• **Kentucky/Ohio/West Virginia:** Flooding is occurring in Pike County, Kentucky, including around Belfry, Phelps and Forest Hills, after 1–2.5 inches of rain. A broader flash-flood watch covers northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio and much of West Virginia through Monday morning due to repeated heavy rain over saturated ground.
• **South Carolina/Texas/New Mexico:** Heavy thunderstorms are causing road flooding near Goose Creek and Ladson, South Carolina; northeastern Hudspeth County, Texas; and northwestern Union County, New Mexico. Watch for water-covered roads, low spots and normally dry arroyos.
