Hammer down weather report 2026-08-29 23:00:53
**Road-Weather Update**
**Arizona:** Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing or possible across parts of Pima, Pinal and Gila counties after 1–3.7 inches of rain, with more rain possible. Avoid flooded washes, underpasses and low-lying roads. Watch especially on Route 286 near Topawa, Route 77 and Route 177 near Kearny/Dudleyville, and Route 86 near Kitt Peak. Warnings run through 10:30–11:15 PM MST.
A severe thunderstorm near Claypool is moving east at 15 mph, capable of 60 mph wind gusts through 8:15 PM MST. Use caution on US 60 and AZ 188 near Globe, Miami and Claypool. Blowing dust may cut visibility to 1/4 mile or less around Gila Bend, Queen Creek, Ahwatukee and parts of Pinal County until 9 PM MST—if dust overtakes the road, pull completely off, park, turn off lights and keep your foot off the brake.
**Utah:** A severe storm over rural north-central Millard and central Juab counties is moving east at 40 mph, with 60 mph winds, quarter-size hail and torrential rain possible through 9:15 PM MDT. Avoid flooded roads and be alert for sudden wind-driven hazards.
**South Dakota:** A severe thunderstorm southeast of Polo, moving east at 25 mph, may bring 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail to Hand County, including near Burdette, through 10:30 PM CDT. Slow down or safely delay travel if hail or damaging winds approach.
Never drive through flooded roads—turn around, don’t drown. Check local conditions before traveling.
