🚨 **Tornado danger in northeast Iowa:** Confirmed tornadoes are moving east to southeast around 40 mph near Readlyn, Fairbank, Oelwein, Hazleton and surrounding parts of Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan and Fayette counties. Tornado warnings run until **4:15–4:30 PM CDT**. Do not drive into the warned area—seek sturdy shelter immediately and check the NWS for the most recent information. Severe storms nearby may produce **60–70 mph winds, large hail, torrential rain and flash flooding.**

**Mid-Atlantic & Northeast:** Widespread heavy rain and severe storms are creating dangerous travel across NJ, eastern PA, southeastern NY, MD and northern DE.
– **Flash flooding:** I-80 in northwest NJ/eastern PA, including NJ mile markers **0–24** and PA mile markers **304–314**; I-78 in eastern PA, including mile markers **11–49**; and the Northeast Extension near mile markers **60–79**. Several warnings continue into the evening, with rainfall rates of **1–2 inches per hour** and additional rain up to **3 inches** possible.
– **Severe winds:** Storms with **60 mph gusts** and hail affect I-78, I-80, I-287, the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and I-95 in northern Delaware. Expect downed trees, power lines, debris and sudden ponding on roads.

**Western PA, eastern Ohio & northern West Virginia:** Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing from **Steubenville to Follansbee**, where **2–4 inches of rain** has fallen and numerous roads are reported closed. Flash flooding also affects the Pittsburgh/Monroeville/Greensburg area and parts of Fayette and Raleigh counties, WV, including **Route 19 near mile markers 6–9**. Avoid all flooded streets, underpasses and road closures.

**Alabama, Tennessee & North Carolina:** Flash flooding is affecting Birmingham and nearby Jefferson County, plus the Decatur–Athens area. Heavy rain has already produced **1–2.5 inches**, with another **1–2 inches** possible. Additional flooding concerns extend through Chattanooga, Athens, TN, and northwest NC. In northeast Alabama near Scottsboro and Rainsville, severe storms may bring **60 mph winds and quarter-size hail.**

**Oklahoma:** Severe storms near Wagoner, Coweta, Inola, Ada and Stonewall may produce **60 mph winds and quarter-size hail** through **4:15 PM CDT**. Localized flooding is also possible near Davis.

**Upper Midwest:** A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect through this evening for northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, including the Ashland, Hayward, Rhinelander, Marquette, Escanaba and Iron Mountain regions. Be prepared for rapidly changing driving conditions if storms develop.

**Driving safety:** Slow down, increase following distance, and never drive around barricades or through water-covered roads—turn around, don’t drown. Watch for fallen trees, power lines and debris after strong winds.
