**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
• **Northern Indiana/Northwest Ohio/Southwest Michigan:** Severe storms are racing east at 50–60 mph with wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail, torrential rain, and possible flash flooding. **I-469 and I-69 near Fort Wayne** are included in warnings through 7:30 PM EDT. A broader severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect through 9 PM EDT. Avoid flooded roads and be alert for downed trees and debris.
• **Northwest Indiana/Chicago area:** Flash flooding is occurring or expected around Portage, Chesterton, Lake Station, Porter, and Burns Harbor through 8 PM CDT. Another 1.5–3 inches of rain per hour is possible; streets, underpasses, and low-lying roads may flood quickly.
• **Wyoming:** A severe storm near Elk Mountain is moving southeast at 50 mph with wind gusts up to 70 mph. **I-80 from mile markers 225–287** may be affected by sudden crosswinds and wind damage through 5:45 PM MDT.
• **Kansas:** Near Scott City, a severe storm brings 60 mph winds and blowing dust that may sharply reduce visibility through 6:30 PM CDT. Slow down, use headlights, and avoid driving into dust clouds.
• **Alabama:** Severe winds up to 60 mph are affecting the Decatur–Moulton area through 6:45 PM CDT. Heavy rain is also causing minor flooding near Cleveland, Warrior, Kimberly, and Locust Fork through 7:30 PM CDT.
• **Kentucky:** Flash flooding is possible in southern Lawrence County, including Chestnut Creek and Laurel Fork, after 2–3 inches of rain. Roads, underpasses, and low-lying areas may flood through 7:30 PM EDT.
• **Virginia/Tennessee:** Damaging 60 mph winds, quarter-size hail, heavy rain, and ponding roads are possible in Buckingham County, Virginia, through 8 PM EDT. Flooding is also possible around Bristol, VA/TN, Walnut Hill, and Bluff City through 10 PM EDT.
• **North Carolina:** Heavy rain has produced 1–2 inches around Fort Bragg, Pope AAF, and Spring Lake, with another 1–1.5 inches possible through 8:30 PM EDT. Watch for water-covered streets and poor-drainage flooding.
• **Southern Utah:** Life-threatening flash flooding is possible along Hole-in-the-Rock Road, including Phipps Wash, Bighorn Canyon, Zebra, Tunnel, and Harris Wash. Never drive into flooded washes or backcountry roads.
