🚗 **Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
**Tornado risk first:** A **Tornado Watch** remains in effect until **10 PM EDT** for Maryland’s Eastern Shore, including Cambridge, Salisbury, Princess Anne and Ocean City. A separate watch covers coastal waters from Fenwick Island, Delaware, to Chincoteague, Virginia. Be ready to get off the road and into a sturdy building if a warning is issued.
**Mid-Atlantic flooding:** Flash flooding and road closures are reported around **Philadelphia, Trenton, Camden, Wilmington and West Chester**, with 1 to 3.5 inches of rain already fallen. Water rescues have occurred in Delaware County. Avoid flooded streets, underpasses and low-lying routes. Eastern Maryland—including Salisbury and Ocean City—could receive another 2 inches of rain through midnight EDT.
**Severe storms:** Damaging winds and large hail are affecting parts of the Plains, Midwest and South.
– **Nebraska:** 60 mph winds and up to half-dollar-size hail near **I-80 from mile markers 209–243** around Cozad, Lexington and Gothenburg; also near Highways 12 and 281 in north-central Nebraska.
– **Tennessee:** 60 mph winds and hail near **I-65 between mile markers 3–19** around Pulaski and Elkton.
– **South Dakota, Minnesota, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi and western North Carolina:** Severe storms may produce 60–70 mph wind gusts and quarter- to golf-ball-size hail. Expect sudden crosswinds, falling trees or power lines, hail damage, and debris on roads. In Mississippi, storms are affecting areas around Jackson, Brookhaven, Laurel, Newton, McComb and Winona.
**Additional flood concerns:** Minor flooding is possible in **Suffolk County, New York** through 10:30 PM EDT; northwestern **Henry County, Indiana** through 11 PM EDT; central **New Mexico** near Chilili through 9:45 PM MDT; and along the Muskingum River near **Beverly, Ohio**, where flooding continues into Friday morning.
