**Virginia:** Flash flooding is ongoing or expected through **4 PM EDT** in the Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Fort Lee and Chester areas, as well as Norfolk, Portsmouth, northwest Chesapeake and northeast Suffolk. Thunderstorms have dropped up to 1.5 inches in 20–30 minutes, with additional rates up to 2 inches in 30 minutes possible. Expect water-covered streets, underpasses, low-lying roads and poor-drainage areas. **Turn around—don’t drive through flooded roads.**
**South Florida:** A nearly stationary severe thunderstorm near Homestead General Airport is producing wind gusts up to **60 mph** and quarter-size hail through **2:30 PM EDT**. Homestead, Florida City, The Redland and nearby areas could see tree debris, wind damage, hail and torrential rain that may quickly flood roads. Slow down, avoid flooded roadways, and seek a safe place off the road if conditions worsen.
