**Flash flooding is an immediate driving danger in New Jersey and Staten Island.**
β€’ **South Jersey:** Flash Flood Warning until **3:45 PM EDT** for areas near **I-295**, including Deptford, West Deptford, Glassboro, Lindenwold and Woodbury. Thunderstorms may produce **1–2 inches of rain in an hour**, flooding highways, streets, underpasses and low-lying areas. A severe thunderstorm near Woodbury is moving east at **20 mph** with **60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail** through **1:15 PM EDT**.
β€’ **North Jersey/Staten Island:** Flash Flood Warning until **3:30 PM EDT** for southern Essex, Hudson and Union counties in NJ and Richmond County, NY. Areas including Elizabeth, Bayonne, Linden, Plainfield, Summit and Staten Island could receive another **1–3 inches of rain**, with flooding possible on streets, underpasses and other poor-drainage spots. A severe storm in Richmond County may produce **60 mph gusts** through **1:30 PM EDT**.

A **Severe Thunderstorm Watch** remains in effect until **8 PM EDT** for much of New Jersey, southeast Pennsylvania, northern Delaware, the New York City metro area and Fairfield County, Connecticut. Damaging winds, heavy rain and rapidly changing road conditions are possible.
