**Road-Weather Update: Flooding and severe thunderstorms are creating dangerous travel conditions in several states.**
• **South Carolina:** Life-threatening flash flooding is underway around **Columbia**—including **I-126, I-26, I-20 and I-77**—with 2.5–3.5 inches already reported and another 2–3 inches possible. Avoid flooded streets, underpasses and highway ramps. A severe storm near Columbia/Lexington also may produce **60 mph winds and penny-size hail** through **3:15 PM EDT**.
• **Central Mississippi:** Flash flooding is affecting the **Jackson, Clinton, Pearl, Madison and Ridgeland** areas through **3:45 PM CDT**. Rainfall rates of 2–3 inches per hour are possible. A nearly stationary severe storm near **Hazlehurst, Crystal Springs and Wesson** could bring **60 mph wind gusts** through **3 PM CDT**.
• **Georgia/South Carolina border:** A severe thunderstorm near **Mistletoe State Park and J. Strom Thurmond Dam**, moving northeast at 10 mph, may produce **60 mph winds** through **3:15 PM EDT**. Watch for fallen trees, power lines and debris near Lake Strom Thurmond.
• **Northern Virginia/Maryland:** A severe storm moving northeast at 15 mph could bring **60 mph winds** near **Reston, Leesburg, Broadlands, Lansdowne and Lowes Island** through **3:30 PM EDT**. Downed trees may block roads.
• **Missouri:** River flooding may affect roads through late Friday or Saturday. Watch for water near **U Highway southeast of Boonville**, **County Highway E near Valley City**, **Highway 23**, **Providence Road in Columbia**, and **N Highway/B Highway near Blairstown**.
• **Southeast Texas:** Heavy rain may cause low-lying and poor-drainage flooding near **eastern Pearland, Friendswood, Alvin and Manvel** through **4 PM CDT**. Another 1–3 inches of rain is possible.
• **Central Florida:** Water may cover roads around **Orlando, Apopka, Altamonte Springs, Ocoee and Winter Garden** through **4:45 PM EDT**, with another 1–3 inches of rain possible.
