**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
• **Central Illinois:** Severe thunderstorms moving east at 45–60 mph are affecting **I-39, I-55, I-74 and I-155** through **1:15–1:45 PM CDT**. Expect wind gusts up to **60 mph**, hail, lightning, and torrential rain that could quickly flood roads. Slow down, avoid stopping under trees or power lines, and never drive through flooded pavement. A broader severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect across central/east-central Illinois until **7 PM CDT**.
• **Northwest and west-central Indiana:** Severe thunderstorms are possible through **8 PM EDT**, including areas around **Kentland, Rensselaer, Attica, Covington, Rockville and Clinton**. Be prepared for rapidly changing driving conditions, damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain.
• **Southeast Idaho:** Life-threatening flash flooding and debris flows are ongoing or expected near **Heise** and the **Big Rock burn scar** in Jefferson and Madison counties until **2 PM MDT**. Roads and driveways may wash out; avoid burn-scar areas, creeks, ditches, and any water-covered road.
• **Juneau, Alaska:** Flooding continues along **Mendenhall Lake and River**, including **View Drive, River Road, Riverside Drive, Skaters Cabin Road and Arctic Circle**. View Drive past 9374 may become impassable, with additional road flooding possible as lake levels rise toward a projected **15.8–16.3 feet** Thursday afternoon. The warning remains in effect until **4:30 AM AKDT Friday**. Turn around—don’t drive into floodwater.
• **Southern Nevada and northwest Arizona:** Afternoon/evening thunderstorms could cause flash flooding through **8 PM PDT** in Esmeralda and central Nye counties, Nevada, and through **Friday evening** in Lincoln County, Nevada and Arizona’s Northwest Plateau. Low-water crossings, washes, and poor-drainage roads may flood quickly.
