**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
⚠️ **Carolinas:** Severe thunderstorms are affecting the Charlotte metro and central South Carolina, with **60–70 mph wind gusts**, hail, and possible downed trees/power lines. Use extra caution on **I-20, I-26 and I-77 in South Carolina**, and near Charlotte. In North Carolina, **flash flooding is ongoing or expected in Sampson and southeastern Cumberland counties**, including Clinton, Roseboro, Stedman, Garland and Salemburg. Another **1–3 inches of rain** is possible through **7:30 PM EDT**; avoid flooded streets, underpasses and low-lying roads. Eastern NC remains under a Flood Watch through Saturday morning, with rainfall rates up to **2–3 inches per hour** possible.
⚠️ **Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi & Louisiana:** Numerous severe storms are producing **60 mph winds and damaging hail**. Watch for sudden tree debris, power-line hazards and reduced visibility. Key travel concerns include **I-20 and I-520 near Augusta, GA; I-55 near McComb, MS; I-10 near Gulfport/Biloxi, MS; and I-10/I-610 near New Orleans.** Heavy rain is also causing low-lying road flooding near Lee/Worth counties, GA, and near Ranburne, AL. Do not drive around barricades or through standing water.
⚠️ **Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa & northwest Indiana:** Severe storms are active near DeKalb and Sycamore, IL, and Grant County, WI, with **60 mph winds and large hail** capable of damaging vehicles. A broader Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until **10 PM CDT** for much of Illinois, southwest Wisconsin, eastern Iowa and northwest Indiana, including the Chicago, Rockford, Madison, Davenport and Gary areas. A tornado watch remains in effect near Grant County, WI. Slow down during heavy rain, avoid stopping beneath trees, and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
⚠️ **Illinois River:** Minor river flooding continues near **Beardstown and Havana**, affecting nearby low-lying areas in central and west-central Illinois. Avoid roads near flooded river-adjacent areas.
⚠️ **Southwest:**
• **Arizona:** Severe storms near St. David may bring **60 mph winds and quarter-size hail**. Use caution on **I-10 between mile markers 309–314** and **Route 80 between mile markers 297–310**.
• **New Mexico:** Heavy rain may flood arroyos, small streams and low-water crossings near Sacramento, Weed, Hay Canyon, and along **Highway 126 north of Jemez Springs**.
• **Nevada:** Minor flooding is most likely on **U.S. 6/50 near Connors Pass**.
Never attempt to cross a flooded arroyo, wash or roadway.
