🚗 **Nationwide Road-Weather Update**
– **New Mexico:** Life-threatening flash flooding is affecting the Rio Hondo downstream through Chaves and Lincoln counties, including Picacho, Sunset, Tinnie and Hondo. Flooding is impacting highways, streets, underpasses, creeks and streams; seek higher ground near the Rio Hondo. Warning continues until **10 a.m. MDT Friday**.
Additional flooding has closed numerous roads near **Clovis, Texico, Melrose and Elida**, with **2–6 inches of rain** reported and up to 1 inch more possible. **Highway 60 between mile markers 361–397** is affected; the warning continues until **3:30 a.m. MDT**. Flooding and low-water crossings are also possible around Las Cruces, Hatch, Vado and Orogrande through shortly after midnight.
– **Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles:** A Flood Watch remains in effect through **7 a.m. CDT Friday** for the western and central Oklahoma Panhandle and northwest Texas Panhandle. Repeated heavy rain may cause localized flooding and flash flooding.
– **North Carolina Outer Banks:** North winds of **25–30 mph, gusting to 50 mph**, are expected on Hatteras Island and the Northern Outer Banks through **8 p.m. EDT Friday**. Driving may be difficult for high-profile vehicles.
