**Nationwide Road-Weather Update**

**Flash flooding is the biggest travel threat tonight** across parts of the Ohio Valley, central Appalachians and Colorado.

– **Kentucky:** Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing in eastern and southeastern Kentucky, including around Jackson, Prestonsburg, Salyersville, Campton and Slade. Rainfall of 2 to 3.5 inches has fallen in spots, with up to 1.5 more inches possible. Flooded streets, underpasses and low-water crossings are possible through roughly 1 AM EDT. Severe storms also bring 60 mph winds and hail near London, Manchester, Hazard and Jackson through 10:30 PM EDT.

– **West Virginia, western Virginia and Ohio:** Flash flooding is affecting numerous roads and low-lying areas. In West Virginia, watch for high water on **I-79 between mile markers 77 and 90**, **I-77 between mile markers 114 and 121**, **I-79 between mile markers 12 and 51**, **I-64 between mile markers 127 and 137**, Route 19, and the West Virginia Turnpike near Mount Hope. Numerous roads remain closed from flooding in southern Fayette and northeastern Raleigh counties. Severe storms with 60 mph winds are moving east at up to 50 mph across parts of Pocahontas and Randolph counties, WV, and toward Covington and Clifton Forge, VA. In Ohio, flooded roads have been reported near Belle Valley in Noble County; water may continue rising despite rain ending.

– **Pennsylvania:** Multiple road and home flooding reports are along **US-322 near Clarion and Strattanville**. Avoid flooded roads through 11:45 PM EDT.

– **Indiana and Illinois:** Major river flooding continues along the White, Wabash, Vermilion and Illinois rivers. In Indiana, flooded or impassable roads are reported or expected near **SR 225 by Lafayette**, **US-36 near Montezuma**, **SR 39 southwest of Martinsville**, and **State Road 358 between Plainville and Edwardsport**. Local roads are also impassable near Covington, Noblesville, Indianapolis, Spencer and Terre Haute. In Illinois, flooding is affecting areas near Beardstown, Havana, Danville, Hutsonville and Palestine; water is near Illinois 33 between Palestine and Hutsonville. Do not drive around barricades.

– **Colorado:** Life-threatening flash flooding continues south of **Highway 24** in the Fourmile Creek basin of Teller County. Flash flooding and debris flows are possible on stream crossings and county roads near the Southern Aspen Acres Burn Scar, including Spring Branch and the St. Charles River east of Beulah; the burn-scar threat continues through 10 PM MDT. Flooding also continues near Boyero after 1.5 to 3.5 inches of rain. Severe storms near Lamar, Holly, Granada, Wiley and Colorado City can produce 60 mph winds and hail.

– **Plains:** Severe storms are producing damaging wind and hail. In Nebraska, 70 mph winds and quarter-size hail are possible near Brownlee, including **Highway 2 between mile markers 197 and 198** and **Highway 83 between mile markers 160 and 178**. Bridgeport and Northport, NE, and Martin, SD, also face 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail.

– **Mid-Atlantic and Southeast:** Severe storms capable of 60 mph winds may bring down trees and block roads near Leonardtown and Hollywood, MD; Morganton, Granite Falls and Valdese, NC; and New Haven and Washington, MO.

Slow down in heavy rain, avoid hydroplaning, and never drive through standing or moving water—**Turn Around, Don’t Drown.** If you encounter road closures, downed trees or flooded crossings, use another route.
