**Road-Weather Update: Severe storms and flooding are creating hazardous travel conditions across several states.**

• **East Tennessee:** Multiple severe thunderstorms through early evening are affecting I-40, I-75 and I-81 corridors, including Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Sevierville, Morristown, Newport and Kingsport. Expect wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail, torrential rain, downed trees and possible flash flooding. Several flood advisories remain in effect until around 7:30 PM EDT; avoid water-covered roads.

• **Ohio/West Virginia:** Flash flooding is ongoing or expected in northeastern Washington County, OH, and parts of Pleasants and Tyler counties, WV, through 7 PM EDT. Up to 2 inches of rain has fallen. Another warning covers central/north-central WV, including I-79 between mile markers 80 and 94, through 7:30 PM EDT, with up to another inch of rain possible.

• **Arkansas–Mississippi–West Tennessee:** A severe storm moving east at 45 mph is impacting the I-40 and I-55 corridors near West Memphis, Forrest City and Marion. Gusts up to 60 mph and torrential rain may cause tree damage and flash flooding through 5 PM CDT.

• **South Dakota:** Near Dupree, Iron Lightning and Red Elm, severe storms may produce 70 mph wind gusts and golf-ball-size hail through 4 PM MDT. A severe thunderstorm watch covers much of central and north-central South Dakota, including Pierre, Aberdeen, Mobridge and Redfield, until 11 PM CDT.

• **Florida:** Severe storms with 60 mph winds are affecting the Orlando/Kissimmee area, Santa Rosa County near Pace and Milton, and parts of Calhoun, Gulf and Liberty counties. Expect sudden heavy rain, tree debris and hazardous crosswinds.

• **Other storm areas:** Severe thunderstorms with 60 mph winds and hail are also affecting Charlottesville, VA; Burlington and Graham, NC along I-40; Pottsville, PA; Harlan and Letcher counties, KY; and Hawley/Hitterdal, MN.

• **Alaska:** A Flood Watch continues through Tuesday afternoon for the Susitna Valley, including Willow, Talkeetna, Trapper Creek and Skwentna. Another 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain is possible, with rising rivers, creeks and poor-drainage flooding. Minor flooding is expected near the Yentna River at Lake Creek through Wednesday afternoon.

• **West Texas:** Central Hudspeth County, including Ranch Road 34 and Esperanza Road near Fort Quitman, may see impassable low-water crossings from arroyo and small-stream flooding through 4:45 PM MDT.

Slow down, increase following distance, avoid driving through standing water, and watch for fallen trees, debris and sudden crosswinds. Turn around, don’t drown.
